The vehicle decides the specification

Two vehicles with the same model name can have different ECU versions, software revisions, gearboxes, mileage, fuel quality, hardware and mechanical condition. They may also be used for completely different work: daily driving, heavy towing, long-distance travel or performance use.

ATM's global calibration network gives us a mature technical starting point. The final specification is then chosen for your ECU, gearbox, hardware, condition and intended use. We verify how the vehicle responds under load instead of assuming that one preset suits every example.

The aim is not the largest isolated number. It is a smooth, usable torque curve, predictable response, correct protection strategies and a result the vehicle can deliver consistently.

Vehicle and software identification

We confirm the engine, gearbox, ECU type, software version, hardware changes and the result you need from the vehicle.

Mechanical assessment and baseline

Warning lights, boost leaks, fuelling concerns and existing faults must be understood first. A baseline run records how the vehicle arrives.

Vehicle-specific calibration

Torque request, boost, fuelling, limiters and related strategies are adjusted as appropriate for the platform and intended use.

Load testing and final verification

The complete delivery is checked under controlled load. The baseline and final wheel-power curves are compared and explained to you.

What we consider before asking for more

A calibration cannot repair a mechanical problem. If the vehicle has warning lights, unresolved boost leaks, fuelling problems, cooling concerns or transmission faults, those need to be addressed before tuning.

  • Vehicle mileage, maintenance history and current mechanical condition
  • Fuel quality, operating temperature, altitude and typical load
  • Standard or modified intake, exhaust, intercooler and turbo hardware
  • Gearbox torque limits and whether TCU calibration is supported
  • Towing, overtaking, daily driving or performance priorities

Fuel-economy outcomes vary with vehicle condition, route, load and driving style. Improved efficiency is possible in suitable conditions, but it is not guaranteed.

Clear answers before you book

Can you confirm compatibility from the registration number?

We normally need the full make, model, year, engine and gearbox. Some vehicles also require an ECU or software identification check before support can be confirmed.

Will calibration affect my warranty?

It can. Warranty, service-plan and insurance treatment varies by vehicle and provider, and some ECUs record programming activity. We explain the relevant risk before work begins.

Do I need hardware upgrades?

Not always. Many vehicles respond well on standard hardware. If the intended result needs supporting exhaust, cooling, intake or turbo hardware, we will explain that before quoting the complete work.

Why do you need the vehicle for several hours?

The appointment includes identification, assessment, baseline measurement, calibration, controlled load testing and final verification. We reserve uninterrupted time so the process is completed properly.
