More usable torque, sharper response and an automatic gearbox that works with the engine—not against it. ATM calibrates the complete vehicle in our state-of-the-art Mossel Bay dyno facility, backed by 27+ years of hands-on vehicle-building experience.
Before we add a single kilowatt, we measure how your vehicle arrives. A controlled baseline gives us the truth about its current delivery—and the reference for every decision that follows.

02 · Protect the original
Your factory file stays safe.
Using leading professional ECU tools, we read and retain the original file before calibration begins. That gives us a secure starting point and exact access to the software in your vehicle.

03 · Build your calibration
Power that belongs there.
Boost, torque and fuelling are calibrated together—not chased as separate numbers. The result is usable torque, clean response and confident overtaking that still feels composed every day.

04 · Complete the package
One less restriction.
As part of the featured package, the EGR command is switched off and its related fault codes are removed from the ECU calibration—cleanly integrated into the same file.

05 · Remove the ceiling
No factory speed ceiling.
Where the platform supports it, the factory speed limiter is removed within the same calibration, so the ECU package is complete when it is written back to the vehicle.

06 · Match the automatic gearbox
The engine and gearbox agree.
The autobox is calibrated around the new torque delivery. Shift timing, response and torque management work together, so the vehicle feels stronger and more settled—not simply more powerful.

We do not hand back a guess.
The finished calibration is tested under load on our in-house dyno. We compare the baseline and final curve, refine the delivery and verify the change on the same vehicle, same dyno and same session.

Real vehicles · measured decisions
This is what proper development looks like.
Power is only useful when the complete vehicle is working correctly. These completed ATM projects show four different starting points—and why the right answer is not always simply more software.
2019 BMW X4 M40i · B58
The existing tune was not the finished answer.
The BMW arrived already tuned, but excessive heat behind its restrictive factory catalyst showed that pushing the software harder would be the wrong decision. SNIPER corrected the restriction with a high-flow downpipe; ATM then recalibrated the complete vehicle on the dyno.

Restriction, heat, airflow and hardware capacity all change what a vehicle can deliver. ATM and SNIPER can solve the complete system—from emissions-component removal and pipework to larger hardware, calibration and final dyno verification.
On supported diesel vehicles, we remove the DPF core, complete the exhaust work and recalibrate the ECU so regeneration requests and the related DPF fault logic are switched off with it.
DPF corePhysically removedECU strategyCalibrated out
The EGR command is switched off and its related fault codes are removed inside the vehicle-specific ECU file. It is completed as part of the calibration—not left as an unresolved warning-light problem.
Where the build calls for it, SNIPER completes catalytic-converter removal and fabricates the downpipe or connecting exhaust work around the actual vehicle—then ATM matches the software to the finished hardware.
A larger or upgraded turbo changes airflow, boost control, fuelling, heat and torque delivery. We plan the supporting hardware around the intended result and write the calibration for the turbo that is actually fitted.
HardwareMatched to the buildCalibrationWritten for the turbo
Intercooler upgrades help manage charge temperature while stronger, correctly routed boost and intercooler pipes keep the airflow path dependable. SNIPER fabricates the supporting pipework to suit the vehicle and the rest of the build.
From turbo and intercooler to downpipe, full exhaust, boost pipework and the final ECU or gearbox calibration, the complete combination is planned together and verified under load before handover.
Not every vehicle needs a complete build. ATM can include the exact additional software or fabrication work the supported platform requires, while keeping the final package coordinated under one roof.

No. The N90 Hilux is the visual demonstration. ATM supports many modern ECU-controlled petrol and diesel bakkies, SUVs and performance vehicles, subject to the exact ECU, gearbox and software.
02Is an ATM remap the same as a plug-in chip or tuning box?
No. A plug-in or piggyback box remains external to the ECU and alters selected signals. ATM establishes professional access to the vehicle’s control software, retains the original file and writes the confirmed vehicle-specific calibration into the ECU—without leaving an external tuning box in the vehicle.
03Does the ECU always need to be physically opened?
No. Where a supported platform allows professional OBD access, ATM can communicate with and unlock the ECU through the vehicle’s diagnostic connection without opening the control unit. Other platforms require a different professional access method; ATM confirms the correct route from the exact ECU and software.
04What is included in the R5,999 2.8 GD-6 automatic package?
Vehicle-specific ECU calibration, automatic gearbox calibration, EGR switched off with related codes removed, speed-limiter removal where supported, retention of the original ECU file, professional ECU access where required and final dyno verification. No plug-in tuning box is fitted.
05Should my exhaust, turbo or intercooler be fitted before tuning?
Usually, yes. Hardware changes alter airflow, boost control, temperature and torque delivery. When a build includes supporting hardware, ATM and SNIPER complete the agreed physical work first and then write the final calibration around the combination that is actually fitted.
06Will I see a before-and-after dyno result?
For performance calibration work completed on the dyno, ATM records the vehicle’s baseline and final delivery so you can see the measured change from your own session. The exact test and verification format is selected for the platform and work completed.
07Can ATM remove the DPF or catalytic converter physically?
Yes. On supported vehicles, ATM and SNIPER can complete the required physical DPF or catalytic-converter work and match it with the correct ECU calibration so the hardware and software are completed as one job.
08Can ATM switch off the EGR system?
Yes. On supported vehicles, the EGR command is switched off and the related EGR fault codes are removed within the vehicle-specific ECU calibration.
09Do you install turbo, intercooler and boost-pipe upgrades?
Yes. ATM can plan turbo and intercooler upgrades, while SNIPER fabricates the supporting boost and intercooler pipework in-house. The finished hardware combination is then calibrated and verified as one system.
10Can SNIPER build a complete or valved exhaust during the same project?
Yes. SNIPER Racing fabricates complete stainless exhaust systems, high-flow downpipes, custom mufflers, X-pipe layouts and supported valved systems in-house. A valved build can remain restrained for daily use and offer a fuller exhaust character when opened.
11Can ATM include Start-stop, AdBlue, swirl-flap or Lambda/O2 solutions?
Yes, where the exact vehicle and software support the requested strategy. Send the vehicle basics through the quick enquiry and ATM will discuss the relevant options, required physical work and correct scope with you.
12Are the 150–195 kW and 500–620 Nm figures guaranteed?
No. They are representative figures for this website journey. The result depends on the exact vehicle, software, hardware, fuel and condition, and is measured on your own session.
13Will tuning automatically improve fuel economy?
Some drivers see improved consumption when added torque lets the vehicle work with less throttle. Actual economy depends heavily on vehicle condition, load, route and driving style and is never guaranteed.
14Can ATM correct an existing tune or calibrate a modified vehicle?
Yes. ATM assesses the software and the hardware actually fitted, identifies restrictions or mismatched components and then develops the correct calibration around the complete combination. The BMW B58 case above is an example of correcting the underlying restriction before recalibration.
15How do I get the correct quotation for my vehicle?
Send the year, manufacturer and model with your contact details. Engine information is optional. ATM identifies the platform, recommends the right options and responds within one business day.
No service menus. No technical guesswork. Send us the basics and ATM will identify the right options for your vehicle, then contact you with clear guidance and pricing.
